Léo Caillard’s exhibition at L’Hôtel du Collectionneur from June 2 to July 1, 2022.
L’Hôtel du Collectionneur will host the next exhibition of gallery 208 which will begin on June 2, 2022.
Gallery 208 has chosen to do Léo Caillard’s exhibition in this iconic Parisian venue, located in the heart of the 8th arrondissement of Paris. This new host 208 welcomes the sculptures of Léo Caillard, contemporary artist, in a decor and architecture of Art Deco style.
Léo Caillard is a contemporary artist who creates classical sculptures by adapting them to today’s codes.
Already presented in many museums alongside Jeff Koons or Damien Hirst, Léo Caillard questions us about Time. The Léo Caillard exhibition presents four series: Wave Stone, Light Stone, Renaissance Woman and Hipster in Stone.
For the Wave Stone series, Léo Caillard plays on the notion of anachronism and the relationship to time. In the Light Stone series, the discobolus, the game of mixing eras is obvious. The artist works on an ancient statue, as a return to the origins of sculpture while bringing a new technique with the addition of LED, a typically contemporary material.
The Hipster in Stone series, takes the massive canons of antiquity by adding accessories of our time, such as smartphones or caps. This questions the way we position ourselves in relation to the present time.
