The exhibition continues at Hélène in Paris!
Galerie 208 is delighted to be taking part in Paris Design Week 2023 with an exhibition dedicated to the iconic designer Alexandre Chary, winner of the Shanghai Picks 2023 Design Award with his piece “Huàn Daybed”. We will be presenting his collection in the intimate setting of Hélène’s exceptional flat in Paris from 7 to 8 September 2023.
Galerie 208 is the exclusive representative of the French designer, who develops his collections in China in keeping with age-old traditions such as the use of mortise and tenon techniques and rattan.
Continuing a long-term partnership, Galerie 208 is presenting the works in an exceptional flat, where art and design meet, opposite the Louvre Museum, and which has been the subject of publications in numerous design and decoration magazines.
Creating a programme of quality exhibitions in exceptional locations is part of Galerie 208’s DNA.
Followed by a large community on social networks (203k Instagram followers), Hélène in Paris is a French entrepreneur and singer known for her participation in the Eurovision selection rounds and regular appearances on television with Les Grosses Têtes.
The Shanhai Picks Design Award, presented to Alexandre Chary for his piece Huan Day Bed, is a leading distinction for the most emblematic pieces presented at Design Shanghai, Asia’s leading design fair, promoting design innovation, craftsmanship, artistry, technicality, cultural relevance, and sensitivity to the past and the future. The jury included designers Michael Young and Ross Lovegrove.
Alexandre Chary’s collection creates a bridge between contemporary design and perceptions of the past, between modernity and Chinese tradition.
