Evelyne Layani, ELO – Hôte 208
Evelyne Layani – 208 Host, founder and director of ELO talks about her encounter with Patricia Chicheportiche and Gallery 208.
The Hausmannian apartment that houses ELOrganisation was a wonderful discovery. On the second floor of 198 Avenue Victor Hugo, Evelyne Layani’s impressive offices offer a prestigious and warm space, just like their owner. In the entrance, as a tribute to the bourgeois houses of Hausmann’s time, a gallery of sculptures and portraits humorously questions our relationship with the times and their idols. Other pieces, of design this time, mingle with this marble conversation. The space, with its majestic aesthetic, gains an irrevocably modern air.
Exhibition from November 08 to February 7 at our host ELOrganisation at 198 Av. Victor Hugo. An interweaving of practices that seem to invite us into contrary universes. Practices that make up an exhibition where experimentation converges. The hazardous mastery of know-how and the power of the medium.
This first curation with our Signature Design was the opportunity for Patricia Chicheportiche to highlight the synergies. The paradoxes caused by the meeting between an emblematic space, art and
design.
From ceramists to visual artists, from designers to photographers, this space makes materials and surfaces vibrate. The functional objects of everyday life are transformed into works of art. The multitude of forms and essences, of designers and techniques, gives to experience the richness of which we never perceive the limits.
