On the occasion of the “Spectres Visibles” exhibition, artist M’barek Bouhchichi is invited to take part in a round-table discussion in the salons of Christie’s Paris, with Cécile Verdier President of Christie’s France, Ridha Moumni Vice-President of Christie’s Middle East and North Africa, Touria El Glaoui Founder of 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair and Christie’s directors.
He will be speaking alongside Tunisian artist Nadia Kaabi-Linke and Algerian visual artist Massinissa Selmani.
The exhibition traces the captivating evolution of visual art in the Maghreb, through a selection of works by modern and contemporary artists from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. Part of a local or global dynamic, the artists explore themes such as cultural heritage, territory, migration, the body, the sacred and the profane. Their works reveal the constant evolution of the region’s identity and artistic diversity.
