Galerie 208 is pleased to announce that it will be presenting two sculptures by Moroccan artist M’Barek Bouhchichi from February 7 to March 30, 2024 at the Hotel Le Mandarin Oriental in Marrakech, partner of the 1-54 fair.

On this occasion, these two original 2.5-metre-high works from the “Palm Tree” series, composed of a stone structure and yellow and pink brass elements, will be exhibited at the Mandarin Oriental, in the gilded pool in the reception hall.

On Saturday February 10 at 10pm, artist M’Barek Bouhchichi will give a talk to present his newly installed works.

This installation is part of the hotel’s ongoing commitment to art and culture, offering visitors a unique experience where art meets hospitality.

OFF de la foire 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair: This event will be part of the VIP itinerary of the where gallery 208 (stand 6) presents three artists from the emerging African art scene: Reggie Khumalo, Armand Boua and Yvanovitch Mbaya.

Through this stylization, I’ve taken up a homology between the poetic metrical matrix and the plant body of the palm tree, slender like an endless column, symbolizing resistance to change.
