LEVAI Victor

French artist Victor Levai began in the preparatory classes of the Ateliers de Sèvres in Paris. He then entered the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.  As a result, he obtained a Diplôme National Supérieur d’Arts Plastiques in 2017.

In Victor Levai’s work, nature is everywhere but especially in our mind. Never realistic, even less naturalist, he makes evocations of nature and beauty bloom, always closer to our dreams. There is in his work as a ceramist, a particular relationship to the material; inked in the technical craft, it has a magical dimension. Victor Levai lets escape from his workshop, not an ordinary and daily object but living forms, self-generating poetry.

His creations, at the confluence of eras, bring together metal and ceramic, resistance and fragility. And in this dual relationship to beauty, he questions the ephemeral aspect of the material and natural forms that he puts forward. Coming from another time, when Nature imposed its rhythm, this approach proposes to us to reaffirm the contemporaneity of the sensitive, the escape and the Earth.

Awards

In 2017, he won the Special Mention of the Jury of the Design Parade of Toulon, international festival of Design at the Villa Noailles.
Then in 2022, he was awarded the House Of Mimmo 2 residence.
