Vanessa Enríquez earned a BFA in Graphic Design in 1998 from Universidad Iberoamericana and an MFA in Graphic Design in 2000 from Yale University School of Art, where she was awarded the Bradbury Thompson Memorial Prize.
She was elected SNCA Fellow in 2017 by the Mexican National Fund for Culture and the Arts to pursue a research and practice project in the field of expanded drawing.
Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in museums, galleries and unconventional spaces in Germany, Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom and Italy, among others.
More recently, she had a solo presentation in 2019 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Querétaro, Mexico, and was selected as an honorable mention in the XIX Tamayo Biennial in 2020 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Oaxaca. Enriquez was an artist-in-residence at the BANFF Center in 2015, where she received the Benediktson Fellowship Fund for International Artists.
