BOUNAN Charly

Charly Bounan is a French designer, he lives and works in Paris.

It is a research around the colorimetry. Sometimes vivid, aggressive, the first works of the young designer are sensitive and sensual. It is the meeting between the artist and the altuglass which allows to explore new techniques. The light is then central, it crosses the artwork and projects a subjectivity that engages only the viewer. It is an explosion of colours through pure geometric forms.

It was in 2016, during a trip that the artist developed a new collection around another material: corten. This particular steel echoes his first loves: rust, the passage of time, the alterable and the unalterable.

Both full and light, earthy and airy, this new collection elegantly combines mineral transparency with raw steel. The minimalism of the form further emphasizes the paradox between the manual, represented by the work done on the corten blocks, and the industrial, embodied by altuglass.
