Originally from Israel and settled in Europe after his first participation in a group exhibition of sculptures in Tel Aviv in 1988, Arik Levy currently works in his studio in Paris.
Artist, technician, photographer, designer, video maker, Levy’s skills are multidisciplinary. His works can be seen in prestigious galleries and museums around the world. Best known to the public for his sculptures, installations, limited editions and design, Levy nevertheless believes that “the world is made of people, not objects.” After studying at the Art Center Europe in Switzerland, he earned a distinction in industrial design in 1991.
After a stint in Japan where he consolidated his ideas by producing products and pieces for exhibitions, Levy returned to Europe where he brought his art to another field, contemporary dance and opera through set design.
Sentimental” artist
The creation of his company then meant a return to his first love, art and industrial design. He is respected for his furniture and lighting designs on all continents. Levy also creates high-tech clothing and accessory lines for companies in the Far East.
He considers himself more of a “feel” artist. Arik Levy continues to make a substantial contribution to our inner and outer environments. His work includes public sculptures, as well as complete environments that can be adapted for multiple use.
